Can Tottenham win the Premier League? the bookies certainly think so

The bookies are always a fairly decent guide to the chances of a particular football team picking up silverware.

Of course, they do get it wrong on a regular basis but as a general guide, they are as good as any pundit or expert.

As things stand right now, Liverpool are the favourites and are as low as 6/4, Man City come in second in the betting as low as 2/1 and then it is Tottenham and Chelsea at just 5/1.

For some perspective, Tottenham has been as high as 125/1 for the Premier League title.

The other two so-called top-six come in at Man Utd 25/1 and Arsenal at 50/1, again, these are the lowest prices.

Obviously, just because the bookies have Spurs at a very low price now does not in itself mean they will kick on and lift the Premier League trophy but based on the pure weight of money it does tell us that more and more people are putting their hard-earned cash onto Jose Mourinho’s men.

There is still a long way to go but if Spurs continue on their current trajectory even 5/1 may seem a value bet, though I am sure many will be gutted they did not grab the 126/1 when it was floating about.

Personally, I am happy with the 80/1 I got.
