‘Biggest issue’: Jermaine Jenas says one Tottenham star goes missing in big games

Jermaine Jenas has bizarrely blamed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane for going missing in big games.

The remarks from the former Tottenham man come after Spurs’ 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on the weekend. Despite scoring a penalty, Kane struggled to really test the Arsenal defence.

This prompted the BBC Sport and BT Sport pundit to claim that Kane does not perform well for Tottenham in big games and finals.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s Youtube channel, he said:

“I need to see more from him. My biggest issue with Harry Kane – and he is going to be a God at Spurs whenever he decides to retire and he will go down as one of the greatest players in Premier League history – finals and big games, I think, are a problem when it comes to what he has done in those moments.”

The comments in my opinion are quite surprising considering he’s been one of Spurs’ most consistent players over the years. And perhaps him disappearing against big teams has got more to do with the entire team’s performance than him alone.
