Antonio Conte ‘crazy’ about signing 26-year-old ace, two other PL clubs keen

Tottenham Hotspur has been linked with a move for the Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie in the past.

A report from Mundo Deportivo claims that the Premier League club remain keen on signing the 26-year-old Ivorian midfielder at the end of the season. Apparently, Chelsea and Manchester United are in the race as well.

Apparently manager Antonio Conte is ‘crazy’ about signing the Barcelona midfielder and he has been an admirer of the player even before Kessie moved to the Spanish club.

Conte knows the player well from his time in Italy and the midfielder has been in the crosshairs of the Italian manager for a while now. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham make a move to sign the player at the end of the season.

Kessie has struggled for regular game time at Barcelona and he might need to leave the club in order to play every week.

Tottenham are in need of midfield reinforcements and the 26-year-old seems like an ideal fit for English football. He has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in the Premier League. Conte likes his midfield to be defensively disciplined and a player like Kessie seems like an ideal fit.

A summer move could depend on whether the Italian manager continues at Tottenham beyond this season. His contract will expire in the summer and if Tottenham fail to renew his deal, their transfer targets could change when a new manager comes in.

Kessie joined Barcelona on a free transfer and the Spanish giants could be open to selling him for a reasonable price in the coming months.
