Alan Hutton makes bold Kane claim after Paratici’s recent comments

Former Tottenham defender, Alan Hutton says Harry Kane would not be happy about Fabio Paratici’s claims that he is happy to partake in rebuilding the club.

Kane had asked to leave in the summer and Manchester City wanted to sign him.

The Premier League champions had bids for his signature rejected by the Lilywhites, who forced him to remain at the club.

However, the striker hasn’t looked happy on the pitch and he is suffering an uncharacteristic drop in form at the moment.

Paratici said via Fabrizio Romano that Kane “knows how to share the sense of belonging to Spurs.”

He is suggesting that the striker is happy to remain at the club, but Hutton says that is far from the truth because at his age (28) Kane wants to win trophies and not rebuilding a club.

Adding that the England captain will want to play for a club that is challenging for titles and Tottenham are not there yet.

Asked if Kane would be happy with Paratici’s comments, Hutton told Football Insider: “No, not really.

“I mean he wants to win trophies, he wants to be playing in team is challenging for everything. You can understand why.

“He’s one of the best strikers in the world. To say that you’re going to go through a rebuild and he’s 28 now, he is looking for success now.

“It will obviously be disappointing for him. They’re stuck in a tough place at the moment. They’ve got a striker there desperate to win. They’re probably not where they should be in terms of league position.

“In terms of actually challenging, I think they’re still a long way off it. They need to get him firing. If he’s going to stay there now, he needs to really get going.

“Whether that is players coming in and adding to the squad, we’ll have to wait and see. It’s a sticky place right now for Tottenham and Harry Kane.”
