Agent drags Chelsea into Tottenham transfer chase, claims Italian journo

Tottenham may have to fight off Chelsea if they are to sign Krzysztof Piatek.

Spurs are in desperate need of another striker, with Harry Kane currently in rehab after hamstring surgery.

Chelsea’s main frontman, Tammy Abraham, is also sidelined through injury, but the Blues have more in reserve – namely Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi.

Giroud is likely to join Inter Milan later this week, though, according to The Express, who confirm Tottenham’s interest in Piatek.

Piatek, 24, has not hit top form this season, notching just four goals in 18 Serie A games for AC Milan.

But the Poland international bagged 22 league goals last term and would certainly improve a Kane-less squad.

Piatek’s agent will naturally want to strike the best possible deal for his client. And Italian journalist Nicolo Schira tweeted on Sunday to claim that said agent had offered the player to Chelsea.

Schira added that talks were ongoing with Spurs.

If former transfer windows are anything to go by, we can expect those talks to drag on until the final hours of Deadline Day…
