Video: Marseille fans caught on camera causing ‘disruption’ outside Spurs hotel ahead of the crucial UCL clash

Marseille supporters set off fireworks outside the hotel where Tottenham players were staying in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to Get French Football News.

According to reports, Tottenham players were kept awake all night by fireworks. Spurs face an extremely important match against Marseille this evening. A point would be enough to win the game but a defeat would mean they will be out of the Champions League.

GFFN tweeted a video from a source that shows the fireworks being set off outside Spurs’ hotel. The 46-second clip shows a continuous stream of fireworks before cutting out but they could have been a lot longer than shown.

The purpose of the fireworks is to ensure that the players do not get enough sleep, causing them to be tired the next day. And according to Sky Sports’ Paul Gilmour, they accomplished their goal, with suggestions that the players were woken up multiple times during the night.

However, it could backfire for Marseille as it will undoubtedly fuel Tottenham’s desire and rage to go out on Tuesday night and get a result.

Spurs will go into the game fresh off a stunning comeback against Bournemouth on weekend, where they came back from 2-0 down to win 2-3.

Marseille on the other hand will not be so confident about a result having lost three of their last four games. Although, the fact that the side has a number of former Arsenal players playing including Alexis Sanchez might serve as a motivation for them to do a number over their old club’s arch-rivals.

Tottenham will be missing Cristian Romero, Deki Kulusevski, and Richarlison for the game.
