Spurs’ Transfer Target Is Frustrated By His Club’s Firm Stance, Deal Suddenly Looks Distant

Sky Sports‘ Lyall Thomas looks to have the inside track on Tottenham’s potential South Korean target Min-Jae Kim, which is neither good news nor bad news, but no news at all, truth be told. The 6’3″ (1.91 m) footballer who has been bewilderingly dubbed a giant by some outlets is still very much in China, according to Lyall.

Despite numerous inaccurate reports and crackpot theories, it seems that the boy’s club, Beijing Sinobo Guoan, have requested that the player remain in China, and by the tone of the piece, this deal is no foregone conclusion. Not at all.

This deal on an emotional level looks like great business, but on business level, one has to ask one’s self if anything quite as complicated could’ve cooked up by the transfer rumour gods.

The good news is that this transfer window will run longer than Daniel Levy’s fast-pour bar, so there’s a tonne of opportunity to bring Min-Jae Kim to Haringey, shall we say.
