Tottenham Hotspur transfer target discusses being linked to Premier League clubs

Bologna defender Aaron Hickey has been a reported target for Tottenham Hotspur to fill the left wing-back position. However, the north London club isn’t the only Premier League side linked to the 19-year-old, as their north London rivals are reportedly also keen on him.

With the transfer window opening next month, Hickey has acknowledged it is nice to see his name linked to Premier League clubs but remained reserved on his future during an interview with Sky Sports News

“I do see a lot of talk, sometimes my pals message and say, ‘what’s this about?” Hickey said. “It’s nice to know there’s interest of other clubs, it gives you some confidence, but you keep your head down and focus on football.”

“I might want to challenge myself and try something else and have a different experience, but who knows the future?”

Hickey has appeared in 34 fixtures for Bologna this season and has scored five goals while registering one assist. Furthermore, the Scotland international is under contract until 2024, so there’s no need to sell this summer if an offer doesn’t meet their asking price.

When it comes to a possible fee a club might have to pay this summer, Transfermarkt puts his value at £14-million, but if there are multiple Premier League clubs in the mix, the price could go up.
