Tottenham gets transfer boost as target prefers a Premier League transfer

Tottenham has been handed a boost in their bid to land Victor Osimhen this summer as the Nigerian is reported to be looking for a Premier League move.

The striker, who scored 18 goals in 38 games this season for Lille, has attracted the attention of several top European sides ahead of the summer transfer window, including Tottenham (TalkSport).

Although Osimhen only joined Lille last summer, the French side knows that it will be tough for them to keep him if he wants to leave.

Tottenham isn’t the only team that wants to sign him with Manchester United, Arsenal and Napoli also interested in him (The Sun).

Reports for some days have placed Napoli in the lead and Football Italia has confirmed that the Italians did make a move for him, but he has turned them down to wait on an offer from the Premier League.

The report claims that Napoli had agreed a 50 million euro transfer fee with Lille for the striker, but he has decided against joining them even though they had offered him a huge salary.

This has opened the door for Tottenham to swoop for the FIFA under-17 Golden Boot winner.

Spurs do need a back up for Harry Kane and Osimhen could be the ideal candidate, he is young at 21 and could become a long term member of the Tottenham squad.

However, finances, as expected, could be the one big obstacle to a deal.
