Tottenham could look to tempt 29-year-old into joining them next season

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

According to a report from Calciomercatoweb, Tottenham could look to make a move for the player in a bid to convince Antonio Conte to renew his contract with them.

The Italian manager will be a free agent in the summer and Spurs are hoping to keep him at the club for as long as possible.

Spurs need to strengthen their squad in order to challenge for major trophies and they are hoping that a signing like Calhanoglu can convince the 53-year-old to extend his stay at the London club.

The 29-year-old Turkish midfielder has been in impressive form since joining Inter Milan and his contract is set to expire in 2024.

The playmaker could be up for grabs at the end of the season and Inter Milan could be forced to consider a sale if he refuses to extend his contract with them.

Tottenham are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements and bringing in a creative midfielder would be ideal for them. They need someone who will add goals and assists from a central position in their midfield.

The 29-year-old is an impressive passer in the final third and his ability from the set pieces will add a new dimension to the Tottenham attack.

Given his contract situation, he could be signed up for a reasonable amount in the summer and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can lure him to the Premier League.
