‘That ship has sailed’ – Jamie Carragher gives his take on the future of Harry Kane

The future of Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur is beginning to surface once again, and if the north London club fails to secure a top-four spot, then questions about the 28-year-old’s future at Spurs will only get louder.

However, English football pundit Jamie Carragher was asked about the future of Kane, and he isn’t buying that the striker will be leaving anytime soon. Furthermore, Carragher believes Kane’s opportunity to play leave the north London club has sailed.

“I can’t see Harry Kane leaving Tottenham now, I think he would like to leave in the summer if he gets the opportunity, but I think that ship has sailed,” Carragher said on “The Overlap Live Fan Debate.”

“You don’t want that career of just being known as winning the golden boot; you want to win big trophies; that is more important, I think than individual honors.”

Over the past couple of weeks, Kane has been linked to a move to Manchester United, who’s looking for an experienced striker. Also, with The Red Devils connected to former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino for the vacant managerial position, some are connecting the dots.

Nonetheless, if Tottenham does finish in the top four, then perhaps all these discussions and rumours over the future of Kane will then all be for nothing.
