The last 16 of the tournament comprised a mixed old bag of sides, including; AC Milan, Ajax, Arsenal, Dinamo Zagreb, Dynamo Kiev, Granada, Manchester United, Molde, Olympiakos, Rangers, Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, Slavia Prague, Villarreal, Young Boys, and our good selves.
The ceremony on EuroSport2 HD was a predictably strained affair, with a former Young Boys player answering a few questions asked in English, which he answered in German, that were then ‘summarized’ in English by a co-host. This is the show that 21st-century tech missed.
First out, Ajax. Who will play Young Boys. Next up, Dynamo Kyiv who will play Villarreal.
The third pairing sees Roma play Shakhtar Donetsk.
The fourth pairing will be Olympiakos at home to Arsenal.
Slavia Prague will host v Glasgow Rangers.
The fifth is Dinamo Zagreb who will play Tottenham Hotspur.
Next is Manchester United v AC Milan.
The final tie to be drawn sees Granada v Molde.
