“Spurs will be one of the many clubs in the running” rival striker targeted by Tottenham

Football Insider exclusively reports that Tottenham is one of the teams looking to sign Olivier Giroud in the next transfer window.

The former Arsenal striker has continued to score goals when he is called upon by Chelsea, yet he cannot hold down a first-team place.

He came out of the wilderness to score for Chelsea as they beat Rennes 2-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday.

He has less than a year left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, and it appears that he will likely not be signing an extension.

He is still important to the French national team setup despite almost no club football and to some, that shows how underrated he is at Chelsea.

The report claims that Spurs have asked to be informed of his situation at Stamford Bridge ahead of the January transfer window.

It also claims that the Lilywhites wanted to sign him in the last January transfer window, but that move never materialised.

It then says that Spurs are one of several teams that will consider a move for him when the January transfer window reopens.
