Rumour Hoover: Spurs Back In To Sign SerieA Ace

Ivan Perisic reportedly wants a move to Tottenham – and could see his hopes realised this summer.

The Guardian suggest the Inter Milan winger was keen to sign for Spurs ahead of Arsenal during the January transfer window, but Mauricio Pochettino failed to make a big move for his signature.

Things are set to be different this summer, however, with a potential cash plus player deal in the offing, the paper adds.

“Perisic and Tottenham are now betrothed,” Tuttosport conclude, “and it seems certain that the wedding will happen in the summer.”

Whilst Perisic would undoubtedly a be a welcome addition, it beggars belief that ‘we’ are still offering clubs loose change found down the back of the sofa and Luncheon Vouchers.

This is a 30 year old, presumably designed to replace Fernando Llorente, yet we couldn’t get a deal over the line.

Beyond all the hoping, praying and belief guano, the reality is that Spurs are going to look a teensy bit ridiculous bartering for players when operating from a billon pound stadium.

Talk of players wanting to come to Spurs will be entirely negated if the investment company that owns the club refuses to pay market rate.

Pochettino needs backing because he’s earned the right to be backed.
