Report: Tottenham’s Boxing Day matchup against Crystal Palace postponed due to COVID-19

Despite Tottenham Hotspur returning to the pitch following their COVID-19 outbreak last weekend against Liverpool, the north London club will once again be sidelined for their festive match against Crystal Palace.

According to Football.London, two members of Crystal Palace’s backroom staff have tested positive for the coronavirus, which comes after several positive tests recorded by the playing staff days before.

Despite it not sounding enough at first to call off a matchup, perhaps the Premier League either feels there are more positive cases coming, or most testing needs to be down on the squad following these results.

Manager Antonio Conte has already shared his concerns regarding the crowded schedule the north London club will have as they look to find room to make up these postponed matches which are already at four games for Spurs.

During a meeting with Premier League officials, the Italian tactician stated that the league had already decided to proceed with games before they even had a discussion to share their concerns.
