Report: Tottenham, Manchester United to battle over RB Leipzig midfielder

This summer, Tottenham Hotspur will be looking at players to see who can fill the midfield role on the squad for next season. The north London club will be looking at various candidates, and one of them is RB Leipzig Konrad Laimer.

According to German outlet Bild, Tottenham and Manchester United have identified the 24-year-old as a target. Laimer is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also function in a more advanced role.

Leipzig will be looking to sell the Austria international this summer considering he can leave in 2023 on a free transfer, so if an offer comes that is suitable, the Bundesliga side won’t turn it down.

The report adds that Laimer impressed Spurs’ hierarchy with his performances in Leipzig’s 4-0 aggregate win over Spurs in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 in 2020.

Since arriving at Leipzig in 2017, he has made 149 appearances, scoring 11 goals and recording 16 assists for the German club.
