Report: Ryan Sessegnon targeting a mid-April return from hamstring injury

Ryan Sessegnon had been in good form before suffering a hamstring injury on March 7 against Everton. The injury ended his run of six consecutive appearances, the longest run in the first team for the 21-year-old since signing for £25 million from Fulham in August 2019.

However, Sessegnon is eyeing a return as ESPN reports that he’s is targeting a return to action for the north London club against Brighton & Hove Albion on April 16.

ESPN adds that the defender is ramping up his rehabilitation to include outdoor work. However, Sessegnon does not want to rush himself back into action, having suffered a series of muscular issues during his time at Tottenham.

Spurs hoped to have the England international back immediately after the international break. Nonetheless, he will miss games against Newcastle United and Aston Villa, with the Brighton match considered as a realistic return date should he progress as planned.

This season, Sessegnon has made 16 appearances for Tottenham.
