Report: Manchester City making one last push for Harry Kane ahead of summer transfer deadline

With the transfer window closing in a few days, it would mark the end of the Harry Kane transfer saga that has dragged on throughout the summer months. However, as the deadline nears, Manchester City will reportedly make one last push.

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester City hopes Kane’s wish to leave Tottenham Hotspur for a move their Premier League rival will force the matter before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline and are not giving up hope of working out a deal.

Any possible transfer would surpass the £100-million British record fee Manchester City spent on Jack Grealish earlier this month, indicating that the Citizens are willing to bid north of £120-million.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak declared back in June that they would be ambitious and competitive in the market, which is why Manchester City is poised to begin a final push for Kane.

Now it will be up to Manchester City whether they meet the asking price Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has set for the striker.
