Pundit reckons Kane’s future depends on who Spurs appoint next

Paul Robinson reckons that Spurs will seek the opinion of Harry Kane before they name a new permanent manager.

The Lilywhites have just fired Jose Mourinho after he oversaw a poor last few months at the club.

They had made him their manager so that they can finally end their trophy drought and also return to the top four.

However, things haven’t gone their way in recent weeks and their form before he was sacked didn’t suggest that they could win the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

Kane has been a star for the team in this campaign as he has scored more than enough goals and provided an abundance of assists.

With 31 goals and 16 assists all season, he is easily the best and most important player at the club.

He has been tipped to leave, but Robinson says his relationship with the next manager would be the key thing.

“When you look at the squad Spurs have got, it is world-class,” he told Football Insider.

“They need to sign two centre-halves but other than that the squad is exceptional.

“The biggest job for whoever comes in is persuading Harry Kane to stay. They need somebody who can work closely with him and help the club achieve his goals.

“He is all important to this and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has had discussions with the chairman as to how the club go forward from here in regards to a new manager etc.

“The most important thing is going to be the new manager’s relationship with Kane. It is vital that they keep him at the club. It will be a massive opportunity for somebody.”
