Pundit predictions: Ex-Arsenal duo and former Spurs boss fancy Wolves to get result in N17

Tottenham are favourites with the bookies to beat Wolves at home… but only just.

However, a home win is not is being predicted by TV pundits Ian Wright, Glenn Hoddle and Charlie Nicholas.

Sky Sports mouthpiece Nicholas tipped a 1-1 draw and told his employer’s website: “I do not see a good day for Tottenham here.”

The Scot was full of questions as he asked: “Is Lucas Moura going to score goals? Is Dele Alli going to play? Who is going to be in a mood? Where is that killer final ball coming from for Spurs?”

Nicholas also wanted to know: “Do they trust Jan Vertonghen?”

Fellow Arsenal legend Ian Wright doesn’t even think Spurs will claim a point on home soil.

Wright, featuring alongside former Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle on beIN Sports on Friday, predicted a 2-0 Wolves win.

Hoddle replied to Wright’s prediction by saying: “You might be right. Spurs will have to play very well to beat this Wolves side.”

Wright and Nicholas will surely be hoping for a Wolves win. Their beloved Gunners do not play this weekend but a Spurs defeat would make a first St Totteringham’s Day since 2016 a very realistic proposition.

Arsenal start the weekend just three points behind Spurs, who – despite the Thursday night fan banter surrounding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang horror miss in the Europa League – cannot help but look enviously at the striking options in the red half of north London.
