Interesting email from Ladbrokes this morning, who spoke to Paul Ince about Solskjaer & Pochettino speculation at Manchester United, and the part I felt worth sharing with you was that Ince suggested that Pochettino ought to be given a Director Of Football if he were to land the hot seat at Old Trafford.
This might well be the missing piece of the Pochettino puzzle. Since the arrival of Mourinho at Tottenham, I’ve made the case repeatedly that there now have to be serious question marks over Poch’s ability to scout the right player. In fairness to the Argentine, he did demand that his title at Spurs was changed to reflect his lack of involvement transfers. Perhaps then, the best case scenario for Mauricio would be to get himself involved in a system whereby he could be involved in the recruitment process, yet not have to personally undertake the heavy lifting?
What is for certain, is that the current Manchester United squad looks like it may well end Ole’s managerial career and it would be a brave man to take on such an unstable group.
