Tottenham has to treat their match against Liverpool as a must-win game because that is exactly what it is.
The Lilywhites will face the defending champions in their worst possible shape. If they cannot get a win, then Jose Mourinho’s men can forget about the title.
Spurs’ start to this season hasn’t been the most consistent, but the good news is that almost every team has had a mixed or poor campaign.
This has made it possible for Tottenham to remain in the title race.
Nevertheless, if we fail to beat this struggling Liverpool team, then I strongly believe that we should forget about the title.
This is not because we would mathematically be out of the equation, rather it is because it will show that we don’t have the mental strength to get the title this season.
Liverpool, have over the years, showed that it would take something extra to win the league or even get close to winning it.
Now that they are at their lowest point, we simply have to compound their woes with a win.
What that would do for our confidence ahead of the remaining games is unimaginable, but we will send a good message to ourselves and not-so-good message to our title rivals that we mean business.
