“Nothing can affect our relationship” – Nuno Espírito Santo comments on his bond with Harry Kane

The Harry Kane transfer saga has come and gone, with the 28-year-old remaining with Tottenham Hotspur. All summer long, Kane had been linked to Premier League rival Manchester City as Pep Guardiola wants a replacement for the departing Sergio Agüero.

Many believed Kane was out the door when he didn’t show up for training and didn’t appear on the squad for Manchester City. Kane did make an appearance against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and since then, the striker has made it that he’s committing to Tottenham.

At his press conference with the media, manager Nuno Espírito Santo spoke about his relationship with Kane now that the dust is settled and he will remain with Tottenham.

“We cannot control the situations that’s happening in the press and the rumors, and the expectations we cannot control,” said Nuno. “On those terms, I think we have to keep insisting and make it stronger, but nothing can affect our relationship. Nothing,” Nuno said, which was relayed by The Guardian

Tottenham will have a couple of matches that they should win against Watford and Crystal Palace as Kane gets back into rhythm for 90 minutes before they test themselves against Chelse FC on September 19th, where they’ll lean heavily on the 28-year-old striker.
