Nagelsmann’s Imminent Appointment At Spurs Suddenly Looks Highly Unlikely

Matt Law of The Telegraph might be interested in this statement from RB Leipzig’s sporting director Markus Krosche. The rather sensational exclusive Law ran recently suggested that Julian Nagelsmann could walk out on RB Leipzig mid-season in order to rescue ailing Spurs – which will have struck many as far-fetched at best. Speaking to BILD (as quoted here by RB Live), Krosche, when asked about Nagelsmann’s links to London, said:

“When you do a good job, you arouse desire. But Julian feels comfortable because he has everything he needs here. The team is developing great. That’s why I see no reason for him to switch – especially since he has a valid contract with us.”

Perhaps Markus Krosche isn’t in the loop and only Matt Law and Nagelsmann himself fully understand just how close Spurs are to shipping the 33-year-old into North London.

I take a view this type of speculation is not just unhelpful, but disrespectful to both Leipzig and Mourinho. Elsewhere, today we have seen national newspapers adding to the white noise surrounding Mourinho, The Express being one and The Independent have yet another poison pen job from Miguel Delaney, which despite its many hundreds and hundreds of words, affords not one paragraph to the state of the Spurs squad, and all those in it that ought to have been shunted on long ago.

When you have veterans like Eric Dier swerving responsibility for his own repeatedly unsatisfactory actions, after 7 unremarkable seasons at the club, you really do know you’re in trouble.
