Pundit explains why Harry Kane is a better striker than Robert Lewandowski

The international break can be a slow one for football media, so programs will often dive into the debate to spark some interest during this period of the football calendar. With this week seeing Harry Kane continue his excellent form, those on talkSPORT decided to have a debate.

During a segment, pundit Gabby Agbonlahor insists the 28-year-old is a better striker than Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, who plays in ‘Mickey Mouse’ Bundesliga.

The former Premier League striker praised the Poland international, hailing his goalscoring numbers as ‘crazy.’ Despite applauding the striker’s 31 goals in 27 Bundesliga games this season, Agbonlahor thinks Kane is the better forward due to his record in the Premier League, compared to the German top flight.

“I feel that Lewandowski is an outstanding striker,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT. “His numbers are crazy, but, like we said, he’s playing in the ‘Mickey Mouse’ league.”

“Compare that to the Premier League with Harry Kane; how many goals has he scored in the Premier League? Put Harry Kane in that Bayern Munich frontline; how many does he score?”

This season, the Tottenham striker is the fifth-highest scoring Premier League player of all-time while also pulling level with Sir Bobby Charlton on 49 England goals and is now four goals from tying Wayne Rooney’s record.
