Levy’s Latest Proposal Smacked Of Desperation And Naturally Failed

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is the man that broke the news that Tottenham had a proposal for Serie A strugglers Torino, whereby Spurs would loan their captain Andrea Belotti, with only an option to buy included. I bet the Italians were cartwheeling about their offices when that that offer of a lifetime came in.

Torino finished just 5 points shy of the nation’s top flight drop zone last term, in fact just one point above Genoa, with whom Spurs’ 3rd best left back has been recentlky linked.

Quote who at Spurs thought this opportunistic offer would work is beyond me. It leaves Torino minus their best striker and no money with which to replace the boy!

It was a dreadfully ill-conceived move that reflects poorly upon us as a club, a deal that in no respect benefited Torino, and only served to leave Tottenham in the luxurious position of deciding if they were to make a purchase.

Perhaps I live in Cloud Cuckoo Land, but I’d prefer it if the current custodians of this football club to operate less like pirates. Is that really too much to ask?
