Levy Poised To Block One January Exit According To Matt Law

Harry Winks is, we are told repeatedly, a player that is highly respected by Tottenham coach José Mourinho, yet the young Englishman has struggled for game time under the Portuguese. In the 2020/21 season so far, Harry’s made just 4 Premier League appearances. The loss to Everton on 13.09.2020, the win against Southampton on 20.09.2020, the draw against Newcastle on 27.09.2020 and the draw against West Ham on 18.10.2020. Only the Toon and Saints games were full appearances.

Matt Law for the Telegraph understands that Winks has become increasingly frustrated with the lack of action and might consider a loan move if he were able to get one that favourable to all concerned.

Winks’ problem is that he fundamentally lacks identity as a player. If you want to put together a compilation tape of his best moments it would take you a fortnight to try and round up clips. For Ndombele, Hojbjerg or Sissoko you could produce one in about half an hour.

I take a view that Winks, like Dele, needs to be sold so Tottenham can cash in before they are past their prime. A loan isn’t go to heal or transform either player.
