Levy Making A Last-Minute Lunge? Spurs Rumoured to be in for £20M Rated defender

Despite intense speculation for many months, Jan Vertonghen agreed to terms with Tottenham to stay on for the rest of the season.

Quite frankly, given the chaos surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, it would have a pretty remarkable offer that took him out of N17, as the Belgian’s options would – under current UK government guidelines – would have been err … non-existent unless he wanted to go back to training in his garden!

Dave Fraser for The Sun believes that Daniel Levy has a mind to replace Jan with Gabriel Magalhaes, who was understood to be on his way to Napoli.

£20million is thought to be Magalhaes’ fee, and his weekly wage £35,000. The 22-year old would have to be viewed as yet another dabble into the LaLiga, looking for a prospect to come good.

I take the view that this summer’s transfer window could well something of a non-event, however, IF Spurs can maintain a decent resistance to injury, then this current squad at full strength would need very little doing to it.
