Journalist raves over the performance of Spurs star against Leicester City

Tottenham Hotspur picked up a significant 3-1 win over Leicester City to maintain themselves in the race for a top-four finish. Although Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were the stars of the fixture, considering the three scored all three goals.

However, despite their performance, one journalist praises Spurs defender Cristian Romero, who he believes is beginning to live up to the £42-million transfer price that Tottenham paid Atalanta this summer.

“Cristian Romero has been a superb signing for Tottenham. Already one of the best CBs in the PL IMO. £42m for him will prove to be a real bargain,” Matt Law of The Telegraph stated on Twitter

Against Leicester City, Romero played all 90 minutes where he registered five clearances, three tackles, and three interceptions. Furthermore, the Argentine defender also won seven of his ten duels.

Romero completed 40 of 49 passes on the passing end for an 82-percent completion percentage on 64 touches. The 24-year-old has seen a good recent run of good form for Tottenham, who are leaning on him in these final set of fixtures for a top-four finish.

Ending the season on a good run is a good way for him to go into his second season in north London with Spurs hoping he will be the anchor that leads the defense.
