Jose Mourinho wants to sign Atletico Madrid player that would welcome a change

Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a move for former Manchester City defender, Stefan Savic reports Spanish media outlet TodoFichajes.

Mourinho became Spurs’ manager when this season had already begun and although he made some addition to his squad in the January transfer window, the former Chelsea boss is expected to sign some more players in the summer.

One position that Tottenham would likely have to strengthen in the summer is central defence, this is because the Lilywhites are preparing for the departure of Jan Vertonghen in a matter of weeks as the Belgian will be out of contract this summer.

Juan Foyth has also hardly featured under Mourinho, and the Portuguese manager would likely cash in on the Argentinean if a good offer comes along.

Savic is currently struggling to get playing times at Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone’s side won’t stand in his way if he wants to leave.

He played for Manchester City in the Premier League and the report claims that the defender would be open to a return to the English top flight.

He is still contracted to Atleti until 2022, but the report claims that the player would be free to leave if any team can pay a fee in the region of 15 million Euros for his signature.
