“It’s Nuno’s worst nightmare” Pundit reckons Nuno Santo resolve is set to be tested

Tottenham has made a bright start to this campaign with the Lilywhites now at the top of the Premier League table.

They have three wins from three and are yet to concede a goal in their league fixtures so far.

Three of Spurs best players at this start of the season have been Oliver Skipp, Steven Bergwijn and Son Heung-min.

The club would have been praying none of them suffered injury problems while on international duty with their national teams during this break.

Unfortunately, their fears were confirmed as the trio has returned from representing their countries with one small knock or another.

Standard Sports reports that the three of them face late fitness tests to be fit for the match against Crystal Palace this weekend.

If they don’t play, it would be an enormous blow and could see them struggle against the Eagles.

Noel Whelan claims that the injury reports will be Nuno Espirito Santo’s worst nightmare, as these players have been important to Tottenham’s fine start to the season.

“It’s Nuno’s worst nightmare, isn’t it?” Whelan told Football Insider.

“They’re sending these players off at the beginning of the season for international duty, praying and hoping they don’t come back with niggles or injuries.

“That’s the worry for clubs when they have successful players that they will be called up to international duty. Unfortunately, it’s come at a really horrible time.

“They’ve started the season really well and two really important players for them, who have started the season so well, could be missing.

“It’s a bit of a headache but this is going to test the manager’s resolve now. How much strength in depth of players do they have if they can’t get fit for the weekend?”
