‘intensifying contacts’ Tottenham remain on course to land world-class South American

Tottenham might become the English team that lands Philippe Coutinho this summer as he looks for a new home.

The Brazilian has been unsettled since he left Liverpool for Barcelona in 2018 and he is currently on loan at Bayern Munich but the Germans won’t sign him permanently (Goal).

Barcelona is desperate to get him off their books (AS) on a permanent transfer this summer and several teams have been linked with a move for him.

A new report from Spanish paper, Sport, via Sport Witness is claiming that Juventus and Inter Milan have decided against signing the former Liverpool man and that his agents have been in talks with Spurs trying to convince them to sign him.

It claims that Spurs are very interested in signing him and that the leaders of Barcelona and Tottenham are ‘intensifying contacts’ to try to get his signing over the line.

It further claims that Barcelona wants to sell him this month so that they can add the amount raised to their transfer kitty ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.

Despite suggestions that the Brazilian is past his best at the moment, he has had a good season in Germany as he has scored eight goals and provided six assists in 22 Bundesliga games for the Bavarians.
