Fabrizio Romano: Vinícius Loan Agreed But No Milik Deal As Yet

Milanese sports journalist Fabrizio Romanao believes (as do many other sources this morning, it would appear) that Spurs have finally managed to thrash out a deal for Benfica striker Carlos Vinícius. This will most likely be a loan deal with an option to buy included.

Vinícus’ addition makes this a fine haul for José Mourinho, who so far has brought in Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, plus Joe Hart.

The 25-year-old, as with Sergio Regulión is a player that has struggled to find a secure home, despite having frequently demonstrated the sort of talent that would be worth backing.

I take a view that that Carlos will be mire than a ‘back up’ player to Harry Kane, and used greater more invention by Mourinho, which allow Spurs to be more successful and more interesting to watch. All the other permutations involving Dele and Sonny and Lucas etc have all been explored, and they do not work.
