This morning Chelsea Football Club placed a £70million bid for Danny Rose.
It looks like The Sun may have well have been not so much playing Rose along, as being played themselves by Chelsea.
Whilst I can’t resist making a gag about Levy blasting Natalie Imbruglia’s ‘Torn’ from his office at Hotspur Way, Gladys tells me that this has been met with a rather swift ‘no dice’ from our folically challenged supremo.
To sell Rose – to anyone – would be Levy announcing Game Over. You cannot have the best back four in the Premier League and then cash 50% of it in and retain even a smidgen of credibility.
Time then for Danny Rose to show us is he’s a man of his word, or he’s slimy little t*rd.
Spurs and Chelsea for the first time in a long time are punching at a similar weight, it will be fascinating to see who comes out of this alive.
