Done Deal For Player Worth Up To £40M

Aston Villa have pulled off an absolute coup here!

It’s difficult to think of a situation even close to this one, where a Premier League side loaned out a player worth up to £40million to anyone, let alone a Championship side.

Only last week Daniel Levy told us…

“…the academy is important because we can produce our own players. We don’t have to go and spend £20, £30m, £40m on a player and obviously that homegrown player has an affinity with the club that a player we buy doesn’t.”

Josh Onomah was the most advanced academy player in the Tottenham ranks, oo surely Onomah must be seen by Levy as being at the top end of the ‘£20, £30m, £40m’ valuations he listed so proudly.

Onomah will get his want, namely first team football.

He told Villa fans: “I can’t wait to get started. This is a huge football club and I want to really make my mark here and prove to be a player the manager can rely on. I know that promotion is the aim and I am here to help us achieve that.”

Having loaned out such a valuable asset, Spurs must be on the brink of making a rather big announcement or two!
