Coronavirus Pandemic Set To Disrupt Spurs Games

The Times (£) is running with a report that the Premier League is about to experience serious disruption, courtesy of the pandemic Coronavirus virus that has put the world in a healthcare spin.

The Government’s Cobra committee on Thursday morning is expected to move the UK’s emergency status for the coronavirus pandemic from the ‘contain’ to the ‘delay’.

Premier League games will not be postponed initially, rather played behind closed doors.

Interestingly, it is also suggested that ticket holders will be able to stream the games they’ve paid for, into their own homes.

Games ordinarily broadcast in pubs will be cancelled, in order to discourage large groups of people meeting in public.

What will trigger these initiatives? The Times suggests that once the number of citizens in the UK that are officially diagnosed as having Coronavirus hits 500, the sanctions will be rolled out. At time of publishing, the number is said to be c.460.
