Breakdown Of The Sanchez Deal – Well Done Daniel

Davinson Sanchez to Tottenham Hotspur is a done deal as of about an hour or so ago. There’s a small matter of a work-permit which the club anticipates being just a formality.

One for the purists perhaps, but this gives us a great insight into how these things are structured.

Gladys tells me that the papers haven’t got the numbers right at all. There’s an initial payment of €15million up front, followed by two payments of  €12million.

On top of this is a further €10million in appearance fees – these will only be fully realised upon the player completing 75 games for Spurs in two competitions, the Premier League and Champions League.

This gives us and potential grand total of €49million, which is tantalisingly close to the €50million that the Dutch were said to be standing firm on.

Suddenly, a good few grey clouds have parted and some sunshine is catching the freshly cut lawn. Not only did I find footage of Sanchez looking like a he can really play, opposed the Strictly Come Carry On Zumba tape that was initially doing the rounds – but the payment schedule looks relatively cushioned.

This is a great deal for what looks like a great player.

Well done Daniel and Poch – get into him!
