“Better than Saka” Tottenham new boy attracts plaudits after fine international display

A number of Tottenham fans have lavished praise on Bryan Gil even though the attacker played just a handful of minutes as Spain ended Italy’s 37-game unbeaten run yesterday.

The tricky youngster is yet to establish himself as a regular at Spurs, but he has continued to be called up to the Spanish national team.

The attacker was a second-half substitute as two goals from Manchester City’s Ferran Torres were enough to help La Roja earn a 2-1 win over their European rivals.

Tottenham updated their fans via Twitter that Gil got 15 minutes of international football in the match and the post gave some of their fans the opportunity to profess their admiration for him.

One fan said he was better than Arsenal man and Euro 2020 finalist, Bukayo Saka, while at least one more asked for him to be played as a right-winger at the club when he returns from the international break.
