Appointing a new manager isn’t Tottenham’s biggest issue this summer and they must solve it claims pundit

Pundit Kevin Campbell reckons that appointing a new manager isn’t the biggest problem Tottenham is facing this summer.

The Lilywhites have been without a permanent head coach since they fired Jose Mourinho in April, but they are about to get a new manager.

The Athletic says they will meet with Nuno Espirito Santo today to finalise his appointment as their next boss.

If everything goes to plan, he should be able to start preseason with them next week.

Being managerless is a big deal, but Campbell says the future of Harry Kane is the biggest problem for Tottenham this summer.

The former striker says the Lilywhites have everything going for them including a new stadium, but the future of Kane is a worrying issue and they have to address it after appointing a new manager.

When Football Insider asked him what he thought about Tottenham’s managerial search, Campbell said: “It has been a bit of a joke.

“They have got everything going for them, new stadium, this, that and the other.

“The big issue is Harry Kane though and that’s the most worrying thing. They have still got to address their biggest issue after getting a new manager in.

“It is not just about losing him, it is also about what they do with the money. He is going to go for a fair whack but even then it will be incredibly difficult to replace him. It is going to be a summer of difficult decision at Spurs”

Kane has been linked with a move away from Spurs, but the Lilywhites want to keep him and the poor financial state of most of his suitors could help them achieve that.
