A report details how much Celtic paid to hold onto Tottenham loanee

Cameron Carter-Vickers is the first exit from Tottenham Hotspur this summer as the 24-year-old will remain with Celtic FC after the Scottish giants reached an agreement with the north London club.

After spending an entire season on loan with the Glasgow side, Football Insider reports the fee that Celtic paid to hold onto the American defender could reach up to £10-million.

The Scottish Premier League champions will pay £6-million up front, with the other £4-million being add-ons. Carter-Vickers is the first of many players that Tottenham hopes to offload this summer to offset some purchases.

In 45 appearances for Celtic this past season, Carter-Vickers scored four goals and recorded one assist while solidifying himself as a starter on their backline, which explains their decision to make the defender’s stay a permanent one.

Along with Carter-Vickers, Spurs are hopeful to see players like Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks, and possibly Bryan Gil exit on favorable fees for the north London club.
