Tottenham in two way battle to sign Manchester City star

Tottenham is battling Arsenal for the signature of Raheem Sterling, Todofichajes reports.

The Englishman is one of the best attackers in the Premier League, but City has a squad that is littered with talented stars.

One of their emerging players in Phil Foden and the 21-year-old forced Sterling to see less action last season.

He remains a key member of the Etihad squad, but City lost the Champions League final against Chelsea and they will make changes to their squad this summer.

Sterling isn’t untouchable and the Premier League champions will listen to offers for him.

The report says the attacker might favour a move to Arsenal even though their absence from Europe could pose an issue.

He would apparently relish the opportunity to become the key man at the Emirates.

However, City could also push him to Tottenham in their bid to sign Harry Kane.

Spurs will demand top-dollar for Kane and it might force them to add some of their stars as a sweetener in the deal.

Sterling may have lost his starting spot at City, but he remains one of the best forwards in England.

He would be the perfect player to kick-start the reign of Tottenham’s next manager.

However, Sterling earns a lot of money and Spurs might struggle to pay his wages.
