Spurs Have Rejected Straight Swap Deal From Italy For Tanguy Ndombele

A straight swap has been mooted, with Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele and Juventus’ Aaron Ramsey. The Telegraph is citing “Italian sources” with this one, yet a swift shufti over at TuttoMercatoWeb points back to Mick McGrath in London. So either the transfer rumour is from a source in Italy that only operates with a direct line to McGrath, or this one ought to be filed in the ‘fiction’ section of your rumour folder.

Swaps rarely come to fruition, and the idea of taking such an enormous risk in the current economic climate just doesn’t make any sense at all. Add to this unappealing deal that the player coming in would be a former Arsenal star, and one is left wondering…

The Serie A champions are almost certainly looking to offload Ramsey. The 29-year-old boy’s on £400,000 a month in Italy and has failed to set the Allianz alight, this season he’s made 10 league appearances and been subbed off on 8 occasions.

I’m calling this rumour out as a Paywall cry for help from McGrath.
