Football Fans That Are COVID-19 Deniers |video

Beyond the very real problems facing both the government and the football chiefs in the English game, are those fans that follow a different path altogether… and some of them got to football matches when those matches are clearly behind closed doors.

Covid19 conspiracy theories are alive and well at Union Berlin’s Alte Försterei Stadium, where Andrew Gold went for football team’s clash with FC Bayern Munich. It was their first so-called Ghost Game (match played behind closed doors) with no fans since the German Bundesliga football re-started after the coronavirus.

My favourite moment was the man in the black (t) shirt who felt Bayern had too many non-German players.

Will conspiracy theorist zombie fans show up outside The Shopping Centre, when English football returns?

Here are some colourful characters Gold met outside the stadium, which was eerily quiet considering some of the world’s best footballers – including Lewandowski, Neuer and Pavard – were playing inside.

Police marched the streets on horseback, while supporters showed up and drunk beers in the sun. They’d apparently rather be outside the stadium to soak up the ‘vibe’ than actually watch the football game on DAZN or Sky at home.
