All Eyes On Tonight’s Team Sheet: Mourinho denies Ndombele spat, tactical water breaks & a new deal close to done|video

Jose Mourinho in today’s Daily Mirror

Jose Mourinho was kept waiting for his presser to kick off and clearly the Kosher One felt that given it’s all online, that people ought to have themselves sorted and ready to proceed. The questions were better this week and in particular, The Moose from talkSPORT did well questioning the legitimacy of the water breaks.

I take a view that the water breaks were on a par with the spraying of corner flags and crossbars, more about football being seen to do the right thing, opposed to a practical measure.

Tanguy Ndombele is player Spurs need to get up to speed and involved in the starting XI’s as soon as possible. If the 23-year-old fails to start this evening, then there will be a deluge of questions waiting for Mourinho at full time.

Perhaps the best news was that the gaffer confirming that Eric Dier is close to penning a new deal, and that the Englishman is happy in his new role.
