Zaha emerges as a target for Tottenham, but they face Premier League competition

Tottenham has been linked with a move for Wilfried Zaha as he targets leaving Crystal Palace for a bigger team.

The Ivorian is one of the Premier League’s best attackers and he has been a long-term target of Tottenham.

At 28, he knows he doesn’t have much time left in the game and wants to join a top team now.

Spurs will bolster their squad when the transfer window reopens and has him on their list of targets.

Goal.com says the Lilywhites are facing a battle with Everton over his signature with the Toffees also keen to have him on their books.

Everton tried to sign him and had two bids for his signature rejected by Palace in 2019.

The Toffees will now try again as they bid to become an established European team under Carlo Ancelotti.

The report says Zaha, who had previously been overpriced to many teams, remains a key part of Palace’s plans for the future.

However, they have a softer stance on his signature now and they will make him available for around £40million, according to the same report.

In a boost to Tottenham’s chances of signing him, Arsenal has abandoned their pursuit of his signature and the Gunners are focused on signing Emi Buendia now.
