According to the latest report from Football Insider, Tottenham are ‘ready to listen to offers’ for Giovani Lo Celso in January.
Mundo Deportivo last month claimed that Lo Celso ‘does not want to leave’ the club in the January transfer window. Instead, he wants to stay at Spurs and ‘improve his chances of succeeding’ at Tottenham.
But as per the latest report, Spurs are now ‘willing to’ let the 27-year-old leave the club.
As per Football Insider, Spurs will ‘accept an offer’ of around £15-20 million for the Argentinian.
Despite impressing Ange in the pre-season, Lo Celso has only played 69 minutes of football this season.
The report further suggests that with Spurs only expected to play once a week, Ange will not be rotating the squad which limits his playing time even further.
However, Spurs are short in the midfield department and any unfortunate injury could derail their season.
Spurs are being linked with a move for a midfielder in the winter transfer window and it is very likely that they will address this area.
Lo Celso has a contract with Tottenham until 2025 and while he has failed to make an impression at Spurs all this time, he has done well at his loan spells away.
His performances at Villareal under Unai Emery in particular led to interest from other La Liga clubs as well with the likes of Barcelona and Real Betis strongly interested in him.
There were talks of another loan move in the summer but reportedly it is not an option anymore with the club said to have toughen their stance on a permanent sale being the only option.
