Pape Matar Sarr has been an important first-team player for Tottenham Hotspur this season.
The 21-year-old Senegal midfielder has established himself as an important player for Ange Postecoglou and he has a big future ahead of him.
The midfielder has the technical attributes to develop into a top-quality player and Spurs fans will be excited to watch him develop over the next few seasons. The midfielder has now opened up on his future plans and shared a fascinating insight into his life after football.
Sarr has confirmed via Football London that he wants to learn about computer science, and although he has not started formal studies on the subject, he plans to do so within the next year or two.
He said: “Computer science is what I want to do after my career. I’ve done bits of research here and there in regards to the route I want to go down. I’ve not started with any formal studies because I don’t really have too much time. Within the next year or two I am going to start lessons. It’s not games I’m interested in, it’s the electronic stuff behind a computer.”
The midfielder also revealed that former Manchester City star Yaya Toure is a role model for players like him and he tries to copy certain aspects of the former Premier League star’s game.
”Toure was a top player, one of the best. I’m not saying I’m Yaya Toure, far from it but there are facets of his game that I do try to copy and take into my own. He’s a real role model for every young player in Africa and one of the people responsible for making us love the game so much.”
Sarr is a prodigious talent with a bright future ahead of him, and if he continues to develop at this rate, he will soon establish himself as one of the most exciting midfielders in European football. Tottenham will need to be careful with his development and let him play as much as possible.
They have done well to nurture him so far the season and it remains to be seen whether they can help the midfielder achieve his true potential in the coming seasons.
