Tottenham has had a rough time throughout the past couple of years – they have practically been known for their inconsistency. However, under the guidance of Conte, many people believe this year could be the year when the Spurs truly excel, and it seems as though a top-four finish is something that might not be off the table.
There are a plethora of factors that dictate whether the Spurs will be able to get a top-four finish in the Premier League this year, and by the end of this article, you will know just how likely it will be for Tottenham to finish so high up in the leaderboards.
To give it to you straight; the chances of the Spurs getting a top-four placement in the Premier League this year are slim at best, and at worst, they are abysmal. This is so much the case that Even Conte admitted this himself. The Spurs have a one-percent chance according to Conte, and while this may be somewhat of a lowball, it’s definitely in the ballpark.
The main issue that is plaguing the Spurs is their inconsistency. In some games, they perform phenomenally and look like nobody can stop them. In others, they look like an amateur club that is facing up against a pro team, and this is still being somewhat generous.
The previous example that we gave is not an over-exaggeration. The difference between Tottenham at their A-game and at their worst is night and day, and this huge rift in performance is what is holding them back from seeing success.
I mean, just go on the Unibet football website and take a look at the odds for Tottenham – they are quite literally all over the place. It isn’t looking all too good for Tottenham right now, and unless they are willing to make a few major changes, we probably are not going to see them finish in the top four.
There Is Some Hope
In stark contrast to everything we have just said in the previous section; the Spurs are not hopeless. Conte could turn Tottenham around if given the opportunity, and if the entire team is willing to put in the hard work and effort to work through their issues, then we could easily see Tottenham get a top-four finish.
They certainly have the potential – no one is debating that. If Tottenham is able to tighten up their play and become more consistent in every game they play, then they would be a terrifying opponent to come against, and we have no doubt that they would be able to shoulder their way through to a top-four finish.
It all depends on whether they are willing to put in the work. The potential for greatness has been there from the start.
What do you think is going to come of Conte’s Spurs this year? Do you think a top-four finish is a possibility, or do you think their inconsistent performance is going to hold them back for yet another year? Both sides of the debate have some merit, and in truth, we are just going to have to see what happens.
The Spurs undoubtedly have the ability to get a top-four finish if they put in the work to find a little more consistency in their play, and with the help of Conte, they may just end up placing better than anyone could have imagined. It’s going to be interesting to see which route the Spurs go down.
