“What were they smoking?” These Spurs fans slam new Tottenham kit
By Bruce Grove -

Some Tottenham fans have been left shocked and embarrassed after the club unveiled their latest away kit.

Kit makers Nike built on a black base with a garish multi-coloured design for the new away kit.

It looks colourful, but some Tottenham fans who have been used to their team playing in plain design kits haven’t been impressed by the new one.

The club will use it in their games against teams away from home and had probably been hoping for a positive reception to the new design.

However, some seem to be wondering who would have signed off on the kit design and it should come as no surprise to the club that the initial reactions from some are not overly happy.

In fact, even the likes of Specsavers could not resist bantering the new design.

Here are a few more responses from the club’s fans and football fans in general and most of them expressed either shock at the design or disappointment with it.

On a personal note, I have to say that I kind of like it, it certainly is not boring and hopefully it will grow on the majority of fans the more it is used.

I have got to say this is the worst THFC kit I have ever seen and quite possibly the worst football kit of all time!!
I hope there is no correlation between this and our squad’s current state!!
I can see Levy lounging around at home in this!!

If iam going to buy a shirt/kit this year I have my eye on a retro one, hummel 86.

Lol, it’s one for the kids, I don’t think it’s aimed at the miserable old codgers that inhabit this fine establishment!

Probably right there.

It’s just that things have been embarrassing enough without then bringing out a comedy away strip… 🤔

Is the kit legal – especially in Europe. There are strict guidelines for kit design and this seems to break most of them.

Did you see the grounds crew shovels, forks and rakes. I am outraged they still using them antiquated tools in 2021. ENIC and Levy must go now.

I wouldn’t buy it whatever it looked like, I’m not financing enic fc any more until they start putting football first.

We’ve had some shocking shirts before. Yeah you purple Pony shirt, talking about you. This one is pretty average. Like someone ate skittles and then had diarrhoea. I just looked at the rumoured 3rd kit and I honestly don’t know which one is worse. Obviously someone doesn’t want to sell too many Away and 3rd kits this season, which is un-levy like.

Seems like a reflection of society today, it’s run out of ideas and doesn’t know what to do next in trying to be different, nothing shocks anymore and everything is acceptable….god help us !

Yep, when you have three new kits every season it’s hard to come up with anything new, so you may as well do something sh*t instead! 😂

Unusual, bit like coloured football boots, revolting at first, then doesn’t look so bad after a few years.

I’m past kit suppliers and loyalty, all clubs have been supplied by all the main brands over the last 15 years. The corporations deserve zero affiliation with the fans. Unless fans are consumerist mugs, oh yeah, I forgot!! 🤔 😂

You’re right but one of those stupid things I’ll stick by whilst they sponsor the Arse, same as I’d never buy or drive a red car.

I used to be more like that but ENIC’s involvement waters this stuff down. You won’t drive a red car, yet about 20 years ago our chairman stuck red on our kit for the first time… 🤔

Yes, but a technicality in that those sponsors logo’s are part of their corporate identity & unfortunately at the wrong end of the spectral colours.
Fortunately, but by sheer chance, for my own anti-red affliction, I’ve bought a kit for 20+ years.
