Tottenham have officially announced that they have agreed a deal with Marseille for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Earlier today, Michael Bridge on X that Hojbjerg was set to undergo a medical examination this morning before finalizing personal terms with the French club. He anticipated that the formal announcement would come within the next 24-48 hours.
Tottenham have now confirmed the transfer, stating that they have reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 side.
The club issued a statement on their official website, announcing the move and wishing Hojbjerg the best for the future.
The statement read:
“We have reached agreement with Olympique de Marseille for the loan of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for the 2024/25 season, with an obligation that would see the move become permanent.”

The deal is structured as an initial loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent for €20 million (£17m) next summer. It also includes a sell-on clause.
Hojbjerg had been seeking a move away from North London since the winter transfer window, driven by a desire for more consistent playing time.
Under manager Ange Postecoglou last season, Hojbjerg found his playing opportunities limited, starting only eight Premier League games and mostly featuring as a substitute in the latter stages of matches. His desire for a starting position has been a significant factor in his decision to seek a transfer.
Hojbjerg leaves Tottenham after four seasons, having joined from Southampton in 2020 for €16.6 million plus add-ons. During his tenure with the Lilywhites, the 28-year-old midfielder made 184 appearances, contributing 10 goals and 16 assists.
As Hojbjerg departs for Marseille, the club will be looking to reinvest in strengthening their squad for the upcoming season.
